Gravity Casting

Gravity casting, also known as permanent mold casting, is a traditional aluminum casting process used to create complex, custom aluminum parts. Unlike high-pressure die casting, this process produces cast aluminum parts by pouring liquid metal into a mold under gravity rather than high pressure. Its production efficiency is slightly lower than that of high-pressure die casting, making it more suitable for small and medium-volume production. However, parts produced by gravity die casting of aluminum exhibit excellent mechanical properties and a smooth surface finish.

Mold: Metal mold (e.g., steel mold, cast iron mold)
Technology Characteristics: Metal liquid fills the cavity by gravity; simple equipment & low cost; dense casting structure; suitable for medium-large castings; applicable to mass production
Tolerance Range: CT9 to CT12
Single Weight: 0.5kgs to 500kgs (or larger for large-scale castings)
Surface Roughness: RA12.5 to RA25
Casting Material Type: Aluminum alloy, zinc alloy, copper alloy, cast iron, carbon steel
Mold Preheating Temperature: Approximately 200°C (up to 300°C for optimal results)
Product Application Fields: Automotive parts, hardware components, household appliance parts, construction machinery, marine fittings and other industrial fields

This process is particularly suitable for applications requiring low production volumes and high-quality results.
